In a significant moment for German horology, the Tutima Patria has been awarded Mechanical Watch of the Year at the 2026 INHORGENTA AWARD in Munich. Presented during the gala evening at Bavaria Film Studios, the award is widely regarded as one of the most respected distinctions in the international watch and jewellery industry.
Judged by a panel of national and international experts, the category recognises watches that stand out for precision, character and masterful execution. The Patria was selected for precisely these qualities – a clear endorsement of Tutima Glashütte’s commitment to traditional craftsmanship and contemporary relevance.

A Watch That Reflects Glashütte at Its Core
The Patria line has long represented the heart of Tutima’s manufacture collection. Rooted in the traditions of Glashütte fine watchmaking, it reflects values of integrity, precision and technical depth. With the Titanium Graphite edition, Tutima brings a modern material and tonal language into this classical framework.
The 41 mm case is crafted from polished Grade 5 titanium. Known for its strength, corrosion resistance and lightweight properties, titanium offers everyday practicality while maintaining a refined presence. Its polished surfaces add a level of sophistication that balances the technical nature of the material.
The Graphite Dial – Subtle Complexity
At first glance, the graphite dial appears restrained. On closer inspection, subtle pyramid textures create depth and movement across the surface. Light plays across the dial differently throughout the day, shifting from darker charcoal tones to brighter highlights.

A small seconds sub-dial with fine groove detailing provides visual structure, while hand-polished steel hands with white Super-LumiNova and diamond-cut indices ensure clarity. The layout is balanced and purposeful, reinforcing the Patria’s calm and confident aesthetic.
The Calibre 617 – In-House and Traditionally Constructed
Beneath the dial beats the hand-wound Tutima Calibre 617, assembled from 171 finely finished components. This in-house movement reflects the hallmarks of Glashütte watchmaking: a three-quarter plate with ribbing, screwed gold chatons, hand-applied bevels and a Breguet overcoil hairspring.

The free-sprung screw balance and 65-hour power reserve demonstrate both technical refinement and practical reliability. Through the sapphire case back, the movement reveals a level of finishing that rewards detailed observation. It is mechanical watchmaking in its most authentic form.
Heritage and Progress in Balance
When accepting the award, Tutima CEO Matthias Stotz noted that the Patria embodies what has distinguished the company throughout its history – the courage to unite heritage and innovation. That sentiment is evident in the Titanium Graphite model. It honours Glashütte tradition while confidently embracing modern materials and contemporary design language.

The INHORGENTA recognition affirms the Patria’s position among the most accomplished mechanical watches of its year. For collectors who value substance over spectacle and craftsmanship over trend, the Patria represents a thoughtful and enduring choice.
The award confirms what careful observers already understood: the Tutima Patria is not simply another dress watch. It is a statement of identity, precision and long-term relevance in modern mechanical watchmaking.
