The Damasko DC80-2 Black – Green chronograph represents a masterclass in technical design and durability. It is part of the highly regarded DC8X series, which pays homage to the legendary Lemania 5100 movement by adopting a patented central 60-minute counter. This design allows for immediate and clear readability of elapsed time across the entire diameter of the dial – a feature that stands out in the field of mechanical chronographs.
Its 42mm case is crafted from Damasko’s proprietary ice-hardened nickel-free stainless steel, offering a hardness of up to 64 HRC, making it four times harder than conventional steels. All visible steel components are finished in an abrasion-resistant black DAMEST coating that provides excellent scratch resistance and visual depth. The case is water-resistant to 100 metres, low-pressure tested, and compliant with military-grade standards including NATO Mil.810.
The dial’s clean, instrumental layout is designed for optimal performance and legibility. Superluminova X1 GL C1 is used on the hands and hour markers to maintain visibility in low light. A date window is neatly integrated at 4:30, colour-matched for visual coherence. The matte black bezel is bi-directional, featuring a 60-minute countdown scale laser-etched and filled with long-lasting white paint. A luminous red bi-light at 12 adds a useful reference point.
Internally, the DC80-2 is driven by the in-house Damasko C51-1 chronograph movement.
