The DC56 with SI Upgrade features a vertical tri-compax layout, a tribute to the legendary Valjoux 7750 calibre developed in 1973—one of the most successful mechanical chronograph movements in Swiss watch history. The discreet, elegant 40mm DC5X chronographs combine vintage inspiration with modern high-precision engineering. Now enhanced with a silicon escape wheel and distinctive SI dial.
The DC5X series are discreet, elegant 40mm chronographs powered by the Swiss Valjoux 7750 movement with a 60-minute stopwatch and a 12-hour totaliser function. This long-standing movement is regulated and tested by DAMASKO for exceptional accuracy.
The case is crafted from DAMASKO’s patented ice-hardened nickel-free stainless steel, offering superior corrosion resistance and a tempered hardness up to 64 HRC / 800 Vickers—four times stronger than typical watch steels. This steel is used across the entire case, bezel, crown, and pushers.
Inside, a 25-jewel Swiss Valjoux 7750 Élaboré-grade automatic movement delivers a 48-hour power reserve. It features a classic Valjoux layout with a 12-hour and 30-minute chronograph counter alongside a central 60-second counter. The silicon escape wheel improves reliability and longevity.
All gaskets are made from Viton, known for its superior chemical resistance. The case includes a screwed case back, is water-resistant to 10 bar (100 metres), and features curved lugs for ergonomic fit. A flat sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating ensures clear readability in all lighting conditions.
The aviator-style SI dial features white minute markers and a triangle at 12 o’clock. Hour markers are coated with Luminova C1 Grade X1, as are the sword-style hour and minute hands. The seconds hand is painted white. Notably, the SI dial includes a unique “Si” imprint at 8 o’clock and an additional 60-second counting ring at 9 o’clock. The offset day/date window is colour-matched for seamless legibility.
The screw-down crown and pushers use DAMASKO’s patented system, triple-sealed and fully operational underwater. The setting stem disengages when screwed down to protect the movement from shocks and pressure. A proprietary lubricant cell ensures smooth operation over time.
The integrated anti-magnetic cage shields the movement up to 80,000 A/m (100 mT), ensuring precision even in challenging environments—a rare and valuable feature.
Each DC56 SI comes with a comfortable black leather strap with contrast stitching and a signed bead-blasted buckle.
