Damasko DC56 Black
A brand with high self-assuredness like DAMASKO is unafraid to honour the legacy of horology. The DC56 Black combines classic chronograph styling with technical mastery, featuring the legendary Valjoux 7750 movement in a stealthy, all-black case. The vertical tri-compax dial layout is a nod to the original architecture of this renowned calibre, which remains one of the most successful mechanical chronograph movements in Swiss watchmaking history.
At the heart of the DC5X series is the Swiss Valjoux 7750 movement, offering a 60-minute stopwatch and 12-hour totaliser. The DC56 Black incorporates the upgraded version with a silicon escape wheel, ensuring enhanced longevity and accuracy under harsh conditions.
The 40mm case is made from DAMASKO’s patented ice-hardened nickel-free stainless steel, tempered to a hardness of 64 HRC / 800 Vickers—four times harder than typical steel. All stainless steel components are further treated with a black DAMEST coating, providing exceptional scratch resistance and a sleek matte finish.
This Élaboré-grade automatic chronograph movement is regulated by DAMASKO for outstanding precision. It is shockproof to DIN 8308 standards and retains the classic Valjoux configuration: 12-hour and 30-minute counters plus a central 60-second counter.
Viton gaskets are used for superior chemical resistance. The case features a screwed case back and water resistance of 10 bar (100 metres), with curved lugs for added wearing comfort. The flat sapphire crystal has an anti-reflective coating to ensure clarity in any environment.
The matte black dial is paired with white minute indexes and a luminous triangle at 12 o’clock. Hour markers and the sword-style hands are coated with Luminova C1 Grade X1, and the seconds hand is finished in matching white. The offset day/date display is colour-coded to blend seamlessly with the dial design.
The triple-sealed screw-down crown and pushers employ DAMASKO’s patented system, designed for full underwater usability. A disengaged setting stem when screwed down protects the movement from pressure or impact, while a built-in lubricant cell ensures smooth long-term operation.
An internal anti-magnetic cage provides protection up to 80,000 A/m (100 mT), preserving accuracy even in magnetically active environments.
