Damasko DC56
A brand with high self-assuredness like DAMASKO is unafraid to honour classic watchmaking. The DC56 features a vertical tri-compax layout, a tribute to the iconic Valjoux 7750 calibre developed in 1973—still one of the most successful Swiss mechanical chronograph movements today. The discreet 40mm DC5X chronographs combine vintage inspiration with modern precision, now enhanced by a silicon escape wheel as standard.
The DC5X series are discreet, elegant 40mm chronographs powered by the Swiss Valjoux 7750 movement with a 60-minute stopwatch and a 12-hour totaliser function. Developed in 1973, the tried and tested Valjoux 7750 is a high-precision movement used in contemporary timepieces, offering reliability and performance.
The DC5X’s bead-blasted case is constructed from DAMASKO’s patented ice-hardened nickel-free stainless steel. This steel offers outstanding corrosion resistance and can be tempered up to 64 HRC / 800 Vickers—four times harder than typical watchmaking steels. This material is used across the entire case, bezel, crown, and pushers.
The movement is a 25-jewel Swiss Valjoux 7750 Élaboré-grade automatic chronograph, regulated and tested by DAMASKO to high precision. It is shockproof to DIN 8308 standards and features a 12-hour counter, 30-minute counter, and central 60-second counter.
Viton gaskets provide superior chemical resistance, and the case includes a screwed case back and 10 bar (100 metre) water resistance. The lugs are curved for enhanced comfort on a variety of wrist sizes. A scratch-resistant flat sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating ensures readability in any light.
The matte aviator-style dial includes white minute indexes and a 12 o’clock triangle marker. Hour markers are coated with Luminova C1 Grade X1, as are the sword-shaped hour and minute hands. The white seconds hand complements the overall aesthetic. The offset day/date display is located just below the 3 o’clock axis and colour-matched to maintain dial clarity.
The knurled screw-down crown and pushers are part of the patented DAMASKO crown and pusher system, allowing underwater operation. The triple-sealed, hardened components include a lubricant cell that ensures long-term smooth function and protection against pressure, impacts, or vibrations.
An integrated anti-magnetic cage provides protection up to 80,000 A/m (100 mT)—a rare feature that ensures reliable accuracy in challenging environments.
Each watch is delivered with a comfortable black leather strap with contrasting stitching and a bead-blasted signed buckle.
