DAMASKO’s DC56 Black (SI Upgrade) fuses classic chronograph design with leading-edge materials and military-grade durability. A tribute to the iconic Valjoux 7750 calibre, this model features the recognisable tri-compax dial layout and introduces performance enhancements such as a silicon escape wheel and a scratch-resistant DAMEST®-coated black case.
This 40mm timepiece is powered by the proven Valjoux 7750 movement, offering a 12-hour counter, 30-minute counter, and central 60-second chronograph, as well as a day and date function. The silicon escape wheel upgrade ensures even greater durability and accuracy over time.
The case is constructed from DAMASKO’s patented ice-hardened nickel-free stainless steel, hardened to 64 HRC / 800 Vickers—making it four times tougher than standard steel. All visible steel elements are treated with an abrasion-resistant DAMEST® black coating for a tactical aesthetic and elevated scratch resistance.
The Élaboré-grade movement is shockproof to DIN 8308 standards and delivers a 48-hour power reserve. Curved lugs enhance comfort, and all case gaskets are made from premium Viton for superior sealing and chemical resistance. The screw-down case back and crown system support water resistance up to 10 bar (100 metres).
The matte black aviator-style dial features luminous white minute indexes and a triangle at 12 o’clock. Hour markers and sword-shaped hands are coated with Luminova C1 Grade X1. The seconds hand is painted white, while the offset day/date window near 3 o’clock is colour-matched for readability and visual clarity.
The patented DAMASKO crown and pusher system allows for underwater use. When screwed down, the setting stem is disengaged, protecting the movement from shocks and pressure. A built-in lubricant cell supports the crown and pusher shafts, ensuring reliable performance over time.
A hidden yet crucial feature is the integrated anti-magnetic cage, shielding the movement from magnetic fields up to 80,000 A/m (100 mT)—a rarity in mechanical timepieces.
