Armin Strom Dual Time Resonance GMT Manufacture Edition Blue

Armin Strom Dual Time Resonance GMT Manufacture Edition Blue

Model: ST26-DT.60

The Armin Strom Dual Time GMT Resonance Manufacture Edition Blue brings a striking new palette to one of the manufacture’s most technically distinctive complications. Its twin independent time displays are regulated by two oscillators connected through Armin Strom’s patented resonance clutch, with the entire mechanism presented against a deep blue PVD-coated mainplate. Two finely grained white dials, blue applied indexes and intricately finished day/night indicators bring clarity to the complex architecture. Measuring just 39 mm across and limited to 50 pieces worldwide, it combines serious mechanical ambition with impressively restrained proportions.

Armin Strom Dual Time Resonance GMT Manufacture Edition Blue

Description

Armin Strom Dual Time GMT Resonance Manufacture Edition Blue

The Armin Strom Dual Time GMT Resonance Manufacture Edition Blue takes one of the manufacture’s most technically fascinating watches and gives it an entirely new visual character. Limited to just 50 pieces worldwide, this edition combines the brand’s patented resonance technology with a rich blue PVD-treated movement architecture, contrasting white dials and a compact 39 mm stainless steel case.

At the heart of the watch is Armin Strom’s manufacture calibre ARF22, a manually wound movement developed and produced entirely in-house. Rather than relying on a conventional GMT hand, the watch provides two genuinely independent time displays, each with its own hours, minutes and day/night indicator. This allows two time zones to be read with equal prominence, while also providing a clear visual demonstration of the twin regulating systems responsible for the movement’s defining complication.

Those two regulating systems are connected by Armin Strom’s patented resonance clutch. Through the physical phenomenon of resonance, the independent oscillators influence one another until they operate in synchronisation. Both balance wheels remain fully visible from the dial side, turning the technical principle into an animated part of the watch’s design. Running at 3.5 Hz, or 25,200 vibrations per hour, the ARF22 offers a 42-hour power reserve from its 231 components and 40 jewels.

The Manufacture Edition Blue introduces colour in a way that changes the visual emphasis of the entire calibre. The blue PVD-coated mainplate forms the background for two finely grained white dials, each bordered by a white azurage chapter ring. Applied blue PVD-coated indexes and matching facetted, polished hands carry the colour back across the dial, while the restrained white surfaces give the exposed mechanical architecture considerable depth and definition.

Particular attention has been paid to the day/night indicators. Each display incorporates a polished and blackened stainless steel disc depicting sun rays and a crescent moon, with the moon itself engraved with a crater-like texture. On the reverse, the blue mainplate is joined by matching blue gear-train bridges and laser-engraved relief lettering. Polished bevels become especially prominent against the darker PVD surfaces, while Côtes de Genève across the rhodium-coloured barrel bridge, black-polished components, circular graining and perlage provide further evidence of Armin Strom’s traditional approach to hand-finishing.

Despite the mechanical complexity on display, the proportions remain notably wearable. The stainless steel case measures 39 mm across, 9.05 mm thick and 44.5 mm from lug to lug, with sapphire crystal front and back and water resistance to 5 ATM. A matte dark blue alligator strap with contrasting white stitching completes the composition. Classical blue and white watchmaking codes may provide the starting point, but the way they have been applied to the exposed architecture of the Dual Time GMT Resonance gives this 50-piece edition a character entirely its own.

Availability note: Depending on availability, delivery times may vary on certain models.

Some watches use blue as a dial colour. Armin Strom has taken a rather different approach. The new Dual Time GMT Resonance Manufacture Edition Blue places a deep blue PVD finish across the mainplate and gear-train bridges of its manufacture ARF22 calibre, creating a dramatic backdrop for twin white grenage dials. Beneath them, two independent regulating systems are connected through Armin Strom’s patented resonance clutch, allowing the balance wheels to synchronise through the physical phenomenon of resonance. Two independent time displays, individual day/night indicators, hand-finished movement architecture and a beautifully compact 39 mm stainless steel case make this far more than a new colourway. Just 50 pieces will be produced worldwide.
