Armin Strom Tribute3 Au750

Description

Armin Strom Tribute³ Au750

The Armin Strom Tribute³ Au750 marks a significant evolution of the Tribute collection, taking the restrained proportions and architectural character of the original concept into a new realm of traditional haute horlogerie. For the first time, 18K rose gold extends through the watch from the exterior case and off-centre displays to the very structure of the movement itself. Limited to only eight pieces worldwide, it is a remarkably concentrated expression of Armin Strom’s independent approach to contemporary fine watchmaking.

Gold is not simply decorative here. Within the Manufacture Calibre AMW21, all three movement bridges are crafted from solid 18K rose gold, including the finger-style bridges supporting the barrel and balance as well as the prominent three-quarter bridge visible through the sapphire case back. This integration makes the precious metal an essential part of the calibre’s architecture, rather than a material reserved for the surfaces surrounding it.

Three different guilloché patterns give the Tribute³ Au750 much of its visual character. The off-centre 18K rose gold dial is decorated with a radiating soleil pattern, while the small seconds subdial features grain d’orge guilloché. On the reverse, the large rose gold three-quarter bridge is finished with a geometric clou de Paris pattern. Each treatment responds differently to light and gives the gold a distinct texture, creating separation and depth without compromising the watch’s understated proportions.

The métiers d’art continue throughout the movement. A mirror-polished rose gold finger bridge holds the visible barrel on the dial side, while hand-polished bevels, frosted surfaces, circular graining and black-polished screws bring further contrast to the calibre. The clou de Paris three-quarter bridge is particularly striking against the grey PVD-coated mainplate, allowing the traditional decorative technique and contemporary movement architecture to sit side by side. Each watch is assembled twice by Armin Strom to ensure the standard of both its mechanical performance and finishing.

At the heart of the Tribute³ Au750 is the manually wound Manufacture Calibre AMW21, entirely designed and developed in-house. Its highly efficient motor barrel uses a reversed construction in which the arbor winds the mainspring within a fixed barrel drum. The space-efficient architecture contributes to an impressive 100-hour power reserve while keeping the movement to just 33.5 mm in diameter and 4.2 mm in height. Approximately 97% of the calibre’s components are produced by Armin Strom, reinforcing the genuine manufacture character behind the watch.

The 38 mm rose gold case measures just 9.38 mm high, maintaining the restrained dimensions that suit the Tribute’s classical inspiration. New grey PVD-coated stainless steel Breguet-style hands sit against Roman numerals, introducing another traditional watchmaking reference without making the design feel historical. Finished with a grey nubuck leather strap, grey stitching and an 18K rose gold pin buckle, the Tribute³ Au750 combines precious materials, traditional craft and distinctly modern independent watchmaking in one of the rarest Tribute references produced to date.

Availability note: Depending on availability, delivery times may vary on certain models.

The new Armin Strom Tribute³ Au750 takes the idea considerably further than a precious-metal case. Its 18K rose gold extends across the off-centre dial and seconds display before continuing into the Manufacture Calibre AMW21 itself, where all three movement bridges are made from solid gold. Three separate guilloché patterns add another dimension: soleil across the main dial, grain d’orge on the seconds subdial and clou de Paris across the three-quarter bridge visible through the case back. Behind the traditional métiers d’art is a thoroughly modern Armin Strom movement. The manually wound AMW21 uses the Manufacture’s highly efficient motor barrel to provide 100 hours of power reserve, while extensive hand-finishing includes mirror polishing, hand-bevelled edges, frosting, circular graining and black-polished screws. At 38 mm wide and only 9.38 mm thick, the Tribute³ Au750 keeps all of that craftsmanship remarkably restrained on the wrist. Only eight pieces will be made worldwide, placing the Tribute³ Au750 among the rarest interpretations of Armin Strom’s distinctive approach to independent watchmaking.
