Armin Strom Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Salmon

Description

Armin Strom Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Salmon

The Armin Strom Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Salmon represents a refined evolution of one of contemporary independent watchmaking’s most technically accomplished platforms. Presented within the System 78 collection, this edition combines Armin Strom’s patented constant force engineering with a newly introduced salmon-toned PVD mainplate, offering a distinctive aesthetic that remains grounded in mechanical purpose.

Housed in a compact 41 mm stainless steel case, the watch balances modern proportions with architectural clarity. A transparent sapphire dial reveals the movement beneath, allowing the intricate construction and layered finishing to take centre stage. The off-centre time display reinforces Armin Strom’s design language, while maintaining exceptional legibility through facetted, polished hands filled with Super-LumiNova®.

At the heart of the watch lies the manufacture Calibre ASB19, a landmark movement within independent horology. Its patented equal force barrel with stop-work declutch mechanism delivers constant torque to the balance wheel across the full 72-hour power reserve. Paired with an automatic micro rotor, the movement achieves both consistent timekeeping and a slender profile, all while remaining fully visible from both sides of the case.

Hand-finishing is integral to the Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Salmon. Every component of the movement is decorated in-house at Armin Strom’s Biel/Bienne manufacture, featuring polished and bevelled bridges, black polished screws, Geneva stripes, circular graining, and perlage. The salmon PVD mainplate, hand-guillochéd in collaboration with Kari Voutilainen, adds depth and texture rarely seen in modern automatic movements.

The watch is paired with a grey nubuck leather strap, complemented by matching stitching and keepers, and secured by a stainless steel folding clasp. This understated pairing allows the movement and case architecture to remain the focal point, reinforcing the watch’s refined yet technical character.

Produced in a limited series of just 25 pieces per year, the Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Salmon stands as a statement of Armin Strom’s commitment to mechanical innovation, transparency, and traditional hand craftsmanship, presented through a striking and thoughtfully executed colour palette.
