A striking new addition to Armin Strom’s acclaimed System 78 collection, the Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Blue reinterprets the brand’s core technical innovation with a cooler, glacial-toned aesthetic inspired by Switzerland’s serene alpine landscapes.
At the heart of this timepiece lies a richly textured guilloché main plate in glacial blue, hand-crafted by legendary independent watchmaker Kari Voutilainen. The offset dial, rendered in transparent sapphire, provides an open window into the beautifully constructed ASB19 movement beneath. With a refined mix of silvery rhodium finishes and soft blue accents, the design captures both tranquillity and complexity. A matching blue nubuck leather strap completes the look with modern elegance.
Technically, the watch is driven by Armin Strom’s in-house calibre ASB19 – the world’s first automatic movement to integrate a stop-work declutch mechanism with a Geneva cross. This patented architecture ensures a constant force is delivered to the balance, significantly improving isochronism across the 72-hour power reserve. The compact micro-rotor not only allows for efficient winding but also contributes to a slim profile and enhanced visibility of the movement through both the front and back sapphire crystals.
Each ASB19 calibre is meticulously hand-finished in the brand’s Biel manufacture. Components such as the bridges and screws are finished using traditional decorative techniques like beveling, Geneva stripes, and black polishing. As with all Armin Strom watches, the Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Blue is assembled twice to guarantee flawless functionality and aesthetic harmony.
