Damasko DC86-2 – Green
The Damasko DC86-2 – Green is the latest addition to the high-performance DC8X chronograph series, built around the in-house C51-6 calibre. This line pays homage to the readability and rugged functionality of the historic Lemania 5100, featuring a unique, springing central 60-minute counter. Unlike traditional layouts with 30-minute counters, this innovative design offers improved visibility and ease of use by utilising the full dial diameter.
What sets the DC86-2 apart is its cleaner, more instrumental dial design. The minimalist Trikompax sub-dial layout excludes the index ring, giving the watch a clear and focused appearance that enhances legibility. Positioned below a finely rendered logo, the model description adds to the understated aesthetic, while full NATO Mil.810 military certification ensures the DC86-2 is tested for durability in extreme conditions.
The case is constructed from Damasko’s patented ice-hardened nickel-free stainless steel, offering exceptional corrosion resistance and surface hardness up to 64 HRC. This advanced material is used throughout the case, bezel, pushers, and crown. The bezel is rotatable in both directions, features a hardened insert, and uses a precision ceramic ball bearing system. All markings are laser engraved and filled with multi-component paint to prevent wear over time. A luminous red marker at 12 o’clock ensures orientation in low light.
Powering the DC86-2 is Damasko’s 27-jewel C51-6 movement, with a 50-hour power reserve, small seconds, central chronograph seconds and minutes, 12-hour counter, 24-hour indicator, and date function. The movement is finely regulated and tested in five positions to deliver maximum performance.
A double-domed sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coating protects the matte dial, which features luminous markers and hands using Superluminova X1 GL C1 for optimal visibility. The date window is subtly placed at 4:30, matching the dial colour for unobtrusive integration. The case uses Viton gaskets for superior chemical resistance, and the screw-down crown and pushers are triple-sealed and protected by Damasko’s patented systems. The setting stem disengages when screwed down to shield internal components from pressure and shock.
For added resilience, the DC86-2 includes an integrated magnetic field cage providing protection up to 80,000 A/m (100 mT), making it suitable for high-exposure environments. The package is completed with a comfortable, high-quality leather or Max Endurance strap and signed, bead-blasted buckle. A manufactory steel bracelet is also available.
