Description
Mühle-Glashütte Teutonia IV Moon Phase Black
Stylish, elegant and resolutely classic, the Teutonia IV Moon Phase Black presents a refined interplay of anthracite and gold tones, pairing poetic lunar symbolism with the disciplined precision of German watchmaking. The deep black night sky and finely detailed moon disc create a striking visual centrepiece at 6 o’clock, offering both romance and mechanical substance in equal measure. This is a timepiece that draws the eye without ever raising its voice.
The moon has long symbolised rhythm, constancy and orientation. In the Teutonia IV Moon Phase Black, this symbolism is translated into a harmonious composition of form and function. The anthracite dial is complemented by gold-plated applied indices, fine minute numerals and lancet-shaped hands, resulting in a balanced aesthetic that deliberately resists short-lived trends. It is a watch designed for enduring relevance rather than fleeting fashion.
At 6 o’clock, the moon phase complication provides an accurate representation of the current lunar cycle. A specially shaped dial aperture reveals a ten-millimetre moon disc, individually crafted for Mühle-Glashütte, which rotates once every 59 days. With two precisely rendered moons displayed on the disc, the watch presents the 29.5-day lunar cycle in clear, one-day increments. The moon’s surface is depicted with remarkable attention to detail, complete with large and small craters against a deep black sky scattered with fine stars.
Powering the watch is the Mühle-modified SW 280-1 automatic movement. Beyond its precise moon phase mechanism, this calibre features the brand’s highly shock-resistant woodpecker neck regulation system. Each movement is carefully finished, assembled and regulated in six positions to achieve an accuracy of between 0 and +8 seconds per day, reflecting Mühle-Glashütte’s commitment to dependable chronometric performance.
The stainless steel case, finished with alternating brushed and polished surfaces, measures 41.0 mm in diameter and is water-resistant to 10 bar. A domed, anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the dial, while an exhibition case back reveals a special rotor reserved exclusively for the 2026 “Three Decades of Wrist Watches” edition models. With a choice of stainless steel bracelet, Alcantara or leather strap secured by a stainless steel double folding clasp, the Teutonia IV Moon Phase Black offers versatility to match its timeless character.
