The S.A.R. Rescue-Timer in Nautical Blue
With aesthetics just as impressive as the clear view from a ship out on the open water, the new S.A.R. Rescue-Timer combines a nautical blue dial with its characteristic triangular markings and indices as white as the rolling waves, perfect for those longing for the sea.
It only takes one glance at the dial of the new S.A.R. Rescue-Timer to be whisked into a world of sparkling waves and blue waters. Inspired by the view from a ship out on the open seas, the triangular markings of this new model stand out against the deep nautical blue background of the dial, paying homage to the ocean setting in which this watch comes into its own.
In February 2002, the first S.A.R. Rescue-Timers were presented to the sea rescue crews on the North and Baltic Seas following the development of the Mühle tool watch in cooperation with the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service (DGzRS). The sea legs of the nautical model were then put to the test in the face of wind, waves, and stormy seas on more than 50 DGzRS rescue cruisers and lifeboats. After proving its worth, the S.A.R. Rescue-Timer went on to become a firm favorite both for the tough missions of the sea rescue crews and on the wrists of watch aficionados with a passion for sport and sailing. Fans of the S.A.R. Rescue-Timer can now look forward to welcoming a new nautical blue model created by the independent family company from the German town of Glashütte.
From its dial to its case and right through to its strap, every element of this iconic Mühle watch is inspired by the deep blue of the seas. Radiantly white hour indices and the watch’s characteristic triangular markings at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock positions stand out against the ocean blue background of the new dial, all coated in white luminous material to ensure the nautical aesthetics of the new S.A.R. Rescue-Timer. The new dial impresses with its clarity in design: Thilo Mühle and his team of developers have made it their mission to ensure that the Mühle tool watch allows for clear time reading at a glance, even in the choppiest of waters.
The nautical blue theme of the dial continues in the rubber bezel of the case and flows into the color-coordinated rubber strap, which features Mühle’s well-established folding clasp with a diver’s extension and safety push buttons on the sides. Alongside its new look, the S.A.R. Rescue-Timer in nautical blue also continues to impress its wearers with the characteristic features of the Mühle tool watch. The 4mm-thick scratch-resistant sapphire crystal always provides a clear view of the face and perfect readability in every situation. The 42-millimetre-large stainless steel case enables the S.A.R. Rescue-Timer to withstand powerful water pressure of up to 100 bars – perfect for a seafaring timepiece. Last but not least, a reliable SW 200-1 Mühle-version movement ensures precise time measurement both on land and out at sea.
The automatic movement comes equipped with the Mühle rotor and particularly shockproof woodpecker neck regulation. It is meticulously regulated in six different positions in-house by the Glashütte-based watch manufacturer and set to ensure accuracy values of between 0 and a maximum of +8 seconds per day. This precision target that forms the heart of Mühle’s own regulation standards is aligned with the German chronometer standard and helps to ensure that the watch never runs slow. After all, Mühle-Glashütte’s ultimate priority is making sure that its watches never make their wearers too late.
