To commemorate 160 years of the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service (DGzRS) and 150 years of their iconic boat-shaped collection boxes, Mühle-Glashütte presents a limited-edition timepiece: the S.A.R. Mission-Timer “160 Years DGzRS”. This special release not only honours a legacy of maritime rescue but also directly supports the cause, with €100 from each sale donated to the DGzRS. Limited to just 160 pieces, each watch is engraved with a unique edition number and features details that tie deeply into the history of German sea rescue.
The titanium grey dial is styled with functional clarity in mind. It incorporates a fine line pattern referencing topographical isolines of the North Sea near Bremerhaven – the headquarters of the DGzRS. Accents in red pay tribute to the DGzRS’s colour palette, visible in both the second hand and in UV-reactive markers. By day, the indices are white, glowing navy blue in the dark, and showing hints of red under UV light.
Built with the same robust reliability as Mühle’s renowned S.A.R. line, this Mission-Timer boasts a 43 mm titanium case and a ceramic bezel, offering 50 bar water resistance and supreme legibility. The double anti-reflective sapphire crystal, oversized date window, and shock-resistant woodpecker neck regulation reinforce its professional-grade construction. A rubber strap with titanium folding clasp ensures comfort and durability, even in harsh sea conditions.
