Mühle-Glashütte 29er Casual Brown Velvet (suede band)
Model:M1-25-78-TB
A statement of style and versatility: the 29er Casual with the velvety brown dial. Whether worn with a dress shirt or slim-fit jacket, it proves without a doubt that style and everyday practicality can go hand in hand.
Once again, the 29er Casual shows its best side—with a subtle velvety brown dial. Whether worn with a dress shirt or slim-fit jacket, at just 9.75 mm thick, the new 29er Casual proves without a doubt that style and everyday practicality can be the perfect match. It’s a must-have for anyone aiming for success.
Not only does the attractive dial feature a soft colour gradient that lightens toward the centre, but it also sports an elegant sunray finish. Functionally, the design provides a high contrast between the minute track and the applied indices against the dark background—making the Mühle watch particularly easy to read. The fine sunray finish, in turn, plays with the light that lands on it, allowing the dial to shine in a wide variety of nuances and giving it a particularly varied aesthetic.
This perfectly complements the high-quality stainless-steel case of the 29er watch family. Since its introduction in 2006, it has been one of the most beautiful outfits that a Mühle movement can wear, owing its charm above all to its variously finished surfaces: the bezel has a brushed top, while the sides are finely polished. A vertical cut crosses the central part of the case and is framed by the bezel and polished sides of the screw-down back. The alternating shiny and matte surfaces create an exciting interplay of reflected light that makes the 29er case a real eye-catcher.
At 42.4 mm in diameter, the 29er Casual’s thin case is made possible by its flat movement and custom-designed dial. In contrast to the thicker 29er models, this one has no rehaut and comes with all the virtues of the other sporty, classic 29er dials: from the aforementioned applied indices to the fine minute numerals and high-contrast minute track on the dark edge of the dial.
The flat Mühle SW 300-1 movement is a significantly modified version of a trusted Swiss base movement. Just 3.6 mm thick, it is first disassembled and technically tested at the Glashütte manufactory. During its subsequent reassembly, Mühle-Glashütte equips it with a particularly shock-resistant woodpecker neck regulation and matching balance cock, among other things. The efficient Mühle rotor is also manufactured in-house. After assembly, the Mühle movement is regulated in 6 positions and set to a rate between 0 and +8 seconds/day. The in-house regulation specification is based on the chronometer standard and is also intended to prevent the watch from running late—because no Mühle watch wearers should ever be late because of their watch.
This means that the thinnest men’s watch from Mühle-Glashütte is also a typical 29er. The 29er series was launched in 2006 and named after a sailing dinghy that young sailors use to compete in the German Sailing Association’s youth championships. The racing dinghy is considered particularly fast, sporty and dynamic—the perfect namesake for the sporty-classic 29er.
