Its aesthetic balance begins with a sophisticated interplay of grey and black tones. The rich black dial provides a striking backdrop for crisp white minute markings and applied indices, which are subtly recessed to create visual depth and enhanced legibility. The outer 24-hour ring, rendered in a refined light blue accent, highlights the number 24 and coordinates with the triangular-framed GMT hand. This skeletonised triangular tip ensures the primary time remains instantly readable while the second time zone is tracked with precision along the rehaut.
The 29er Big GMT maintains the commanding presence of the Big series with its 42.4 mm diameter, yet it achieves an impressively slim 10.3 mm profile. This makes it one of the flattest watches in the current 29er family. The reduction in height is made possible by a newly designed middle case segment combined with the flatter Mühle-version SW 330-2 automatic movement. The result is a watch that sits comfortably on the wrist while retaining strong visual authority.
Crafted from brushed and polished stainless steel, the case plays with light through contrasting surface finishes. A double anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the dial, while the exhibition case back reveals the finely decorated movement within. Water resistance to 10 bar and a screw-down crown ensure the 29er Big GMT remains as robust as it is refined.
Inside, the Mühle-modified SW 330-2 automatic movement delivers a 56-hour power reserve and features stop-second functionality and a quick-set date. The movement is regulated using Mühle’s shock-resistant woodpecker neck fine regulation and adjusted in six positions to achieve a daily rate between 0 and +8 seconds. This regulation philosophy prioritises forward-running accuracy, ensuring the wearer is never late.
In honour of “Three Decades of Wrist Watches” at Nautische Instrumente Mühle-Glashütte, every 2026 model is fitted with a special-edition rotor. This commemorative rotor is exclusive to watches manufactured during the anniversary year and reflects the company’s heritage, which began with marine chronometers before expanding into wristwatches. Paired with either a canvas or leather strap with quick-release spring bars, the 29er Big GMT is a versatile companion engineered for modern global life.
