Description
Moritz Grossmann BENU Date White Gold (Silver Dial)
Model: MG-000857
Apart from knowing the precise time, the next most desired feature on a wristwatch is typically the date. The date indication ranks closely behind the hour, minute, and seconds displays, despite being a relatively recent innovation in horological history. The first wristwatch featuring an analogue date appeared early in the 20th century. Drawing inspiration from this traditional complication, Moritz Grossmann’s watchmakers have significantly enhanced its functionality with an intuitive jumping date mechanism.
The DATE model prominently showcases a complete date scale and a distinct, highly practical date marker. The calibre 100.3 within the DATE is derived from calibre 100.1, retaining many key components. However, the integration of the jumping date complication necessitated redesigning several critical parts. An additional setting crown located at the 10 o’clock position immediately signals this sophisticated complication.
Special Features:
Grossmann balance; lateral pusher for hand-setting override and restarting the movement; precisely jumping date display with peripheral marker; bidirectional date adjustment via a separate crown at 10 o’clock; space-saving modified Glashütte stopwork with backlash; micrometer screw adjustment on cantilevered balance cock; hand-engraved 2/3 plate, balance cock, and escape-wheel cock; broad horizontal Glashütte ribbing; 3-band snailing on ratchet wheel; raised gold chatons secured with pan-head screws; independently removable clutch winding mechanism; stop seconds for precise hand setting.
Functions:
Hours and minutes, subsidiary seconds with stop seconds, date display, manual winding with Grossmann pusher
