Description
Lang & Heyne Anton Platinum
King Anton ruled Saxony in the early 1800s despite never being destined for the throne. As fifth-born, he came to power in middle age and proceeded to rule with tolerance and a delicate understanding of power balance during times of revolution and upheaval. This earned him the title of Anton ‘the kind’ – an unexpected treasure who served his people well. The Anton Tourbillon was created with this noble heritage through the skilled workmanship of master watchmakers trained in the art of horological design and construction. A Lang & Heyne watch is always a small piece of magic and the Tourbillon Anton is no exception with its filigree detail and high precision.
For over 200 years the tourbillon has served as a symbol of mastery in the world of horology so it is only natural that the master watchmakers at Lang & Heyne committed themselves to meeting this industry benchmark. During the first half of the 20th century, the tourbillon complication was enhanced by the Saxon School of Watchmaking with their interpretation of the side-mounted, ‘flying’ carousel. Lang & Heyne’s Tourbillon embraces this concept in the stunning rectangular Anton. The lightweight, delicate nature of the Tourbillon cage reduces the power demand and shock sensitivity of the mechanism, rendering the movement more functional and reliable.
The beauty of the rectangular calibre with its spectacular bar-movement and chatoned, double-diamond, end stone crowns is further enhanced by the opening on the “Grand Feu” enamel dial for the delicate tourbillon cage. Whether set in a solid, 18ct rose gold, stainless steel, or Grade 5 platinum case the Anton Tourbillon is both a joy to wear and a beauty to behold – the perfect balance of functionality and form.
This model epitomises the high art of horology by combining platinum with an exacting tourbillon complication and a well-conceived, extensively considered design. A tourbillon is often considered the holy grail of complications and Lang & Heyne’s Anton definitely ranks in this respect by delivering a timepiece of the highest quality and calibre.
