The Kudoke 3 Flakes Rhodium continues the evolution of Stefan Kudoke’s distinctive HANDwerk collection, presenting the same architectural complexity of the Kudoke 3 with a cooler, more contemporary character. Retaining the triple-scale hour display and layered dial construction, this edition replaces the yellow gold-plated engraving with a refined rhodium-plated “Flakes” finish, resulting in a luminous, silvery texture that shifts beautifully under light.

Inspired by antique English pocket watches yet firmly modern in its execution, the Kudoke 3 offers a structured interpretation of time. The lower silvered, rhodium-plated dial plate carries three separate hour scales, each covering four-hour intervals. A sculptural three-armed hour hand indicates the correct segment, encouraging a more deliberate engagement with the display while preserving the harmony of the design.

The highlight of this edition lies in the hand-engraved upper dial plate. Crafted using the intricate “Flakes” technique, tiny fragments of material are carefully carved from the surface before receiving a rhodium plating. The result is a textured surface with remarkable depth and subtle brilliance. Each dial is individually engraved by hand, ensuring that every Kudoke 3 Flakes Rhodium possesses its own distinctive character.

The layered architecture is further enhanced by the polished bevel framing the upper plate and the rhodium-plated minute ring secured with four visible screws positioned at the 10, 20, 40 and 50-minute marks. This structural arrangement adds dimensionality without overwhelming the dial, reinforcing the refined aesthetic of the HANDwerk collection.

Beneath the dial beats the hand-wound Kaliber 1 movement, developed and finished in-house, based on the Habring² A11 architecture. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour with a 46-hour power reserve, the calibre is meticulously decorated with a frosted wheel bridge, hand-polished bevels, heat-blued screws and a hand-engraved balance cock bearing the infinity symbol. This motif reappears as the counterweight of the minute hand and at the 60-minute mark, creating visual continuity throughout the watch.

Encased in a fully polished 39mm stainless steel case with a stepped bezel and onion-style crown, the Kudoke 3 Flakes Rhodium offers balanced proportions and refined presence. Sapphire crystals on both sides reveal the sculptural dial and artisanal movement finishing, making this edition a compelling expression of independent German watchmaking artistry in a cooler, monochromatic form.
