Description
Hanhart Preventor HD12
The everyday all-rounder with a classic matt black dial, scratch-resistant HD12 steel and timeless design.
Hanhart’s exclusive HD12 steel is the result of extensive development and testing that delivers a new benchmark in case performance and robustness.
The Preventor HD12 presents a 3-hand model with central seconds in a compact case diameter of 39 mm. With water resistance of 15 ATM (150 m) and a screw-down crown, the Preventor HD12 watch is the perfect everyday companion.
Developed for heavy use: HD12 steel technology, developed by Hanhart, achieves an exceptional surface hardness without compromising the corrosion resistance of the stainless steel. This innovative material combines two high-tech processes in the elaborate, multistage production to preserve the fine details in the appearance of the case in addition to optimum scratch resistance with varying surface finishes to enhance aesthetics and durability in areas of high wear.
The first step in the production process involves large quantities of carbon being diffused into the stainless steel as part of a surface hardening process. This creates a gradual transition from the hard surface to the soft core. This process offers an enormous advantage over a pure coating, as it prevents brittleness and enhances structural integrity. Following this stage, a transparent hard coating (PVD) is then applied to provide additional protection. With this process, the HD12 steel achieves an impressive surface hardness of up to 1200 HV (Vickers hardness), which makes the watch case many times more resistant to abrasion than conventional 316L steel, which has a surface hardness of around 220 HV.
Timeless Hanhart Design: The Preventor HD12 impresses with its clearly designed dial, available in either black or blue. It has three central hands, with the second hand featuring a distinctive red tip that enables precise reading. The minute and second hands are curved at the end to avoid parallax errors. Both the numerals and hands are coated with SuperLuminova® C1, which enhances luminosity and ensures optimum legibility at all times. The dial also bears the historic Hanhart logo to emphasise the brand’s heritage in timekeeping.
The watch has a diameter of 39 mm, a height of 10.5 mm, and is powered by the reliable Sellita SW200 automatic movement. The highly operable crown features the historical Hanhart ‘h’, highlighting the attention to detail exhibited in every Hanhart watch.
Outstanding comfort: Various strap options are available for the Preventor HD12 to deliver individual style and comfort depending on your needs and preferences. Go classic with a leather band on pin buckle, or for those who value easy care, Hanhart also offers a robust steel bracelet, which is coated with a transparent hard material layer (PVD) and has a surface hardness of up to 1000 HV.
Others may show the time, Hanhart measures it: As a pioneer in the development of wristwatch chronographs and stopwatches, Hanhart has played an important role in the history of the German watch industry. Thanks to its passion for technical inventiveness, Hanhart continues to set itself the highest standards and is guided by the following maxims: precision and reliability, perfect readability and simple, safe operation, as well as the best possible robustness. Since 1882, the watch manufacturer has been producing timepieces that combine perfection with unmistakable design. The development, production, and distribution of the mechanical watches are located in Gütenbach, in the Black Forest in Germany, and quality standards are the guiding light throughout manufacture and assembly.
The Preventor HD12 in classic matte black offers optimal dial contrast to ensure functionality and legibility with a classic appeal. Match this piece with a leather band for a more traditional effect, or team it up with a hard-coated metal bracelet if you’re looking for a more adventurous playmate.
