The Alexander Shorokhoff Frozy Green is a striking limited-edition automatic watch that brings one of nature’s most mesmerising materials into a bold, architectural horological form. Following the acclaimed introduction of the Frozy at Inhorgenta, this new interpretation presents the collection in a richer and more exclusive expression, defined by a genuine green malachite dial and a case design unlike anything conventional.
At the centre of the Frozy Green is its natural malachite dial. Each dial carries its own layered pattern of deep green tones, giving every watch a distinct visual character. The mineral’s organic banding creates a sense of movement across the dial, shifting between darker and lighter shades depending on the angle of light. Rather than relying on applied decoration alone, the dial allows the natural structure of the stone to become the artwork.
The case has been newly developed for the Frozy line and gives the watch much of its sculptural presence. Crafted in stainless steel, it uses a stepped construction made up of several bezel layers, creating a strong architectural form on the wrist. This multi-tiered approach gives the 40 mm case a powerful visual identity while keeping the profile refined, with a height of 10.3 mm including the front sapphire crystal.
The crown follows the same design language as the case, blending into the layered structure with deliberate consistency. Through the sapphire crystal case back, the movement reveals a hand-engraved and finished rotor, along with blued screws and a neatly presented mechanical layout. The finishing brings a distinct artisanal quality to a movement already respected for its practical strength.
The white lacquered hour and minute hands, together with the white central seconds hand, create a crisp contrast against the deep green malachite dial. The colour pairing keeps the watch legible while allowing the dial to remain the dominant visual feature. A date display adds everyday usefulness without taking away from the stone’s expressive surface.
