Alexander Shorokhoff’s limited edition Alexander Shorokhoff Emotio Due delivers a unique symbiosis between functionality and modernity that may seem unassuming at first glance but is packed with features and design highlights. As such, this striking model embodies technical innovation and modern design.
The unique dial design of the Emotio Due offers numerous notable details. Although the embossed avant-garde pattern remains subtle in the background, it is clearly visible, giving the dial an extraordinarily textured aesthetic. A central, wave-like element transversing the entire dial forms the focal point for the boldest design elements: the prominent number 60, unusually placed at the 9 o’clock position, the decentralized second hand, and the brand logo. On closer inspection of the decentralized second hand, it becomes apparent that the zero position of the seconds is not at the usual 12 o’clock position, but about 15 seconds to the left.
The two mother-of-pearl, sub dials are the inspiration for the collection as they creative a harmonic duo to balance out the design. (Due is also the Italian word for two). The upper sub dial, designed in light mother-of-pearl, displays the date, while the lower sub dial shows the power reserve in various mother-of-pearl feature colours. Contrast and legibility are enhanced via clever use if colour on the hour and minute hands. Without dominating the dial, the dark yellow hands with black decorative lines, deliver clarity and unity which complement the numeric hour markers, made of high-quality, gold plated elements to seamlessly integrate into the overall design.
This collection was made with love and although seemingly unassuming, upon closer inspection, numerous emotionally appealing details are revealed, to indicate that each piece was designed with great attention to detail and creativity, creating a special fascination. The case construction of the Emotio Due is a complete new development. With a diameter of 42 mm, it is remarkably thin for a hand-engraved automatic movement of the caliber STP12-1. The rounded design of the case and pushers gives the watch an elegant and modern aesthetic which ensures enduring appeal and wearer comfort. The case front has also represents innovation. Unlike conventional domed sapphire crystals, this model features a cylindrical glass, which adds an interesting contrast to the flat look of the case. The watch is worn with a high-quality genuine leather strap that perfectly conveys the avant garde elegance of the Emotio Due Power Deserve/Date.
